New young genomics testbull Schreur Positiv PP: Milky, hornless, and trouble-free!
The demand for homozygous polled bulls is increasing. That's why K.I. Kampen continues to expand its selection of PP bulls. Schreur Positiv PP (Positron PP x Stick PP, aAa 432, A2A2) is a highly valuable addition to K.I. Kampen's homozygous polled segment in terms of pedigree, breeding value, and cow family.
Positiv PP's sire is Positron PP-red, a Warmond son who scores exceptionally well for components (+0.48% fat and +0.38% protein). He is solid in conformation and Positron PP doesn't exhibit any major faults. His overall score of 104 for feet & legs is of great level, and he appears to produce persistent, late-maturing daughters. Positiv PP is the only Positron PP son at K.I. Kampen to date.
Bull dam Schreur Caralie 10 (s. Sticks PP, AB87) produced over 11,000 kg of milk as a heifer, and in subsequent lactations, she even surpasses that. She is sufficiently developed, shows good proportions, and has a wide and slightly flat rump. Her udder and legs are of great quality, and very functional. Her dam, Schreur Caralie 85 (s. Bart, AB86), is differently built, well-developed, has a good udder, and sufficiently good legs. She currently produces well over 60 liters of milk per day. Her lifetime production to date is 65,500 kg of milk in 1673 production days. This means she has produced an average of almost 40 liters per day across all lactations. She could have had slightly higher components, like her daughter, but Positron PP is an excellent bull to compensate for this.
This is confirmed by the Positiv PP genomics report. He shows a substantial milk yield with flat components. He also appears to be scoring highly for longevity, hoof health, milking speed, and udder health. In short, a fine addition to the K.I. Kampen portfolio of polled bulls.
