Dumfries: The complete high yielding bull from the Rita family!
The Willem’s-Hoeve Rita family is almost a guarantee for great bulls. After Steyr, K.I. Kampen now has a new major talent from this family: KIK Dumfries (Encourage x Martin).
The sire of Dumfries is Encourage (Fragrant x Trust). His daughters are currently calving and he's proving to be a production powerhouse. The high milk production and high percentages in his breeding value underscore this. In terms of conformation, they are somewhat light-bodied cows that generally possess good udders. To achieve the right balance in his offspring, a combination with a strong and heavy dam line is desirable.
Bull dam Willem’s-Hoeve Rita 2340 was a heavy Midwolder Martin daughter. She had a beautiful frame and a fantastic udder. But she was more than just beautiful. She was an high producer and the full sister of proven bull Willem’s-Hoeve Steyr. Steyr primarily produces heavy, high-yield cows. Dumfries’s grandmother is Rita 1626A (s.Jetset, VG86). She can best be described as a medium-sized cow with more width than height and a long, strongly attached udder. Besides excellent conformation, the Rita cows are known for producing high kgs fat and protein, although it should be noted that the high number of liters in the pedigree sometimes comes with lower components. However, this is not the case with Dumfries’s mother and grandmother.
The Dumfries offspring will produce a lot of milk with good components. Dumfries also appears to produce daughters with good balances frames and excellent udders. Furthermore, his genomic profile shows high scores for udder health and hoof health.
