Sire Mask (Stamkos x Wisent Rf) was already very popular in the Netherlands and Germany as a young bull. He is a member of the Massia family. The cow family behind Major is the Bontje family. This family is known from De Paalberg Andes (Andy x Colorado, aAa 561). Start of this cowfamily is Bontje 138 (s. Kian, A90). She is the red-and-white cow with the highest lifetime production kilos of fat and protein in the Netherlands. Via Classic, Burnstyn, and Rafter, Ticket daughter Bontje 180 (VG89) is Major's granddam. "She is sixth calf and produces well. She looks like a third-calving cow and it looks like she will last a very long time," says Petra Verhoef. Her Rednex daughter Bontje 193 (VG87) is the dam of Major. "She is a solid cow and looks exactly like her mother. She is always in calf in one insemination and does her thing unobtrusively. Exactly the way we like it.", Petra indicates.

Major himself is a well-developed bull with an extra muscle. He has a wide chest, a sloping rump and dry legs. His breeding value is remarkably interesting in terms of health traits. For example, he scores 112 on daughter fertility. Persistence and late maturity are also top of the breed. The Paarlberg Major is a very interesting bull for farmers who want to milk without problems with high components.
