Homozygous polled breeding has attracted a lot of positive interest. K.I. Kampen tries to meet this demand by offering the widest possible range of homozygous polled bulls. Sem PP (Tubanter P x Perplex PP) is an MRIJ bull of which all calves will be hornless.

However, being homozygous polled is not the only quality of Sem PP. He comes from the Marijke family. His mother Marijke 219 P is VG 86. She is a fourth calver and her lifetime production to date is 41,046 kilograms of milk with an average of 4.65% fat and 3.65% protein. Her dam was a VG85 ninth calver Meldon daughter. She was recently culled and produced 87,129 kilograms of milk with 4.11% fat and 3.75% protein.

Breeder Gerben Nijzink describes the cowfamily behind Sem PP as follows: “They have the best feet. They are trouble-free working cows with a considerable added value when they go to the slaughterhouse. Because the family meets many of my requirements, a conscious attempt was made to breed in the polled gene. It is great that there now is a PP bull from this family that can also add something for other cattle farmers.”

Sire of Sem PP is Tubanter P (Constant x Baco P). He comes from the Paula family. A family that distinguishes itself in solidity and trouble-free production. His first daughters are currently calving. He seems to pass on the solidity and trouble-free nature of his cow family. Through his mother's sire Baco P, he has a touch of Holstein in his pedigree.

Sem PP is a typical MRIJ bull in terms of type and own performance. Wide in the forehand, dry legs, a nice sloping rump and with suitable musculature. Sem PP is an excellent option for pure MRI breeding where polled is desired. Sem PP can also produce problem-free cows in a three-way cross.
