Rimau

Rimau comes from a well-known cow family; the Rika family of the Bokdam family from Bornebroek (NL). For KI Kampen, this family is not new. Earlier we tested Rilight (sired by Lightning) and more recently Ricolm Rf (by Malcolm). The latter is a full brother of Rimau’s mother. Further on we get back to the Rika’s, now first something about our sire of sons: Mauro. With him we see a Goal son who combines more than 1,000 kilograms of milk with very thick levels. Mauro seems to give daughters with lower than average stature and have a lot of width in the front and rump. The figures for udder and legs are fine without extremes. He scores strongly on almost all functional characteristics. Bull dam Rika 1393 originated from a flush where-off four full sisters are present at the farm of the Bokdam family. The four full sisters have an average lacatation value of 112+. For Rika 1393 there is a nice 117+ listed. This Malcolmheifer is a powerhouse with a touch of luxury. In udder she is very functional and in feet and legs she is very strong. The touch of luxury she probably got from her grandmother Rika 1281, a Leonidas daughter who is now in her fourth lactation. She is fantastic in her frame, a lot of luxury and has a very good udder and excellent feet and legs. This together resulted in the nice score of 88 points for overall conformation. To date, she has produced more than 51,000 kilograms of milk with 3.72% protein. We also see these qualities in great-granddam Rika 1150, an EX90 Shogun daughter. Cows that everyone would like to have in the barn. This will certainly be the case for the two cows that produced more than 100,000 kilograms of milk, further on in the pedigree. We would like to mention Rika 868 a Major daughter, gifted with a great udder until later in life it stayed in great shape and produced  110,000 kilograms of milk with it. Through the 88 points Novalis daughter Rika 782 we come to the progenitor of the Rika family; Rika 715 a Labelle daughter also classified AB88. Many of the qualities of the Rika’s are reflected in Rimau. A beautiful bull, completely balanced with great legs.
