KI Kampen was founded in 1980 to keep Friesian bulls available for Dutch farmers and farmers in the rest of the world. In 2022 KI Kampen still has the largest Friesian breeding program in the Netherlands. Friesians distinguish themselves with good fertility, good components, longevity and the ability to surive in grazing herds. This is what makes the breed very popular all over the world.
KI Kampen selects the Friesian bulls on cowfamilies. If a cowfamily is better than average in the herd and doing that for generations, it is worth having a look. Than we see what they are classified (at least VG85) and what the protein is (at least 3,50). After that the bulls is checked by one of our breeding specialists. The bull has to look good. He needs good feet and legs and a balanced type. Once the bull made it to the ai station of KI Kampen, the highest and latest standards for semen collection and freezing are used to make sure you get the best fertility results.
Dalino is a nice example of our Friesian lines up. His milking daughters have balanced production, super longevity and very healthy udders. Dalino is suitable for heifers and has A2-A2 Beta cassein. This makes him very popular on farms in grazing countries like Ireland (EBI 180, with plusses for all production traits) and NZ.
